How does the Mormon Church accomplish brainwashing, as you contend?

Nina Rehfeld: You contend that the mormon religion employs brainwashing its members. How so, if the church insists that everyone needs to search for truth in prayer themselves?

Park Romney: This is a complex discussion but, ultimately comes down, once again, to the epistemology of the Church. Members are taught to consider “good feelings” achieved under enormous social pressure to constitute answers to prayers and, accordingly, a basis for establishing truth which often times flies in the face of objective and incontestable evidence to the contrary. This empowers an illegitimate priesthood with an unwarranted obedience.
